Inside the GC complex at Map Ta Phut
GC was formed in 2011 by the amalgamation of PTT Aromatics and Refining with PTT Chemical, and the Map Ta Phut complex is described in industry data as Thailand's largest chemical and petrochemical site, operating since 1991. Reported capacities include roughly 3.7 million tonnes a year of ethylene and propylene across the Olefins 1 and 2 units on naphtha and LPG feed, and about 2.2 million tonnes a year of BTX across two aromatics complexes, plus a propylene oxide plant. Shutdowns overlap on the estate
Cracker and aromatics turnarounds bring large contractor crews who work to a fixed pass window. A permit app, plant directory and camera on one managed unit reduces what is signed out at the gate and reconciled at the end of the shift.
Rounds across a wide plot
Operators and inspectors cover distances between process areas and the safe-area control building. The 4,000 mAh battery is sized for a full shift with the camera and GNSS running, so a drive back to charge does not clear the gate twice.
Vendor and equipment approval

Why group IIC for a petrochemical site?
