SAMS Mobile is developing an intrinsically safe Android smartphone purpose-built for hazardous areas — the gas and dust atmospheres found across oil & gas, mining, petrochemical and industrial sites worldwide.

The certification programme is built around IECEx, ATEX and NEC 500, with testing underway with TÜV in Germany ahead of the Q4 2026 launch.

Our Message

Welcome to SAMS Mobile

Hazardous area handsets exist, but the good ones are expensive and ageing, and many run Android releases a modern security policy will not accept for the years such a device stays in service. Meanwhile the work has moved onto software, and the people doing it are inside classified areas where an ordinary phone is not allowed. That gap is worth one product done well.

We have chosen to say only what we can evidence. The device is pre-launch, so you will not find customer logos, case studies or invented figures here — only what the IS-04Z1 is designed to do, which certifications are being pursued, when we expect to launch, and how to reach a person who will answer a technical question.
