Explosion proof mobile phone for Grupa Azoty: four plants and a polymer complex
The group’s plants are individually large and different from each other. Tarnów is the original nitrogen and plastics site. Puławy makes nitrogen fertilisers and is one of the world’s larger melamine producers. Kędzierzyn-Koźle pairs nitrogen fertilisers with oxo alcohols and plasticisers. Police combines a fertiliser works with Polimery Police, which uses Honeywell UOP Oleflex propane dehydrogenation to make propylene and a Grace Unipol process for polypropylene; the group says its polypropylene production began in 2023. Ammonia and syngas sit at the root of most of it, which means hydrogen and natural gas inside one fence and powdered product in the next building. Ammonia is toxic before it is flammable

Frequently asked questions
Does one handset cover both ammonia plants and polypropylene silos?
The design target, Zone 1 gas and Zone 21 dust, is meant to. Whether it is right for a given area depends on that area’s gas group, temperature class and dust properties, so check each against the certificate once it is issued.
Is melamine dust a Zone 21 concern?
Fine organic powders can form explosive clouds, and the operator’s dust classification decides. The handset’s dust marking should be read against the plant’s zone drawing and the minimum ignition energy of the powder.
