Planned shutdowns, short and busy
When a unit comes down the site fills with contractors for a few weeks. A handset has to be enrolled, restricted and wiped quickly, and Android Enterprise is the mechanism for that.
An explosion proof mobile phone for the refining and petrochemical sector in the Czech Republic has to work in a small number of very large sites, all of them in Bohemia. The country has no coast, so its refineries at Litvínov and Kralupy nad Vltavou run on pipeline crude and supply the Záluží petrochemical complex and a handful of neighbours. This page is for the operators and contractors who decide what may be carried into those plants. The IS-04Z1 is designed around intrinsic safety rather than a flameproof enclosure.
Launching Q4 2026 · ATEX programme in progress
Two refineries define the sector: Litvínov, which shares the Záluží complex with the steam cracker and polymer units, and Kralupy nad Vltavou. Both belong to Orlen Unipetrol and are described on the Orlen Unipetrol page. Beside the Kralupy refinery Synthos operates a synthetic rubber site; the company announced that its emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber line there stopped in the second quarter of 2023, and says that butadiene rubber production at Kralupy continues. At Pardubice, Paramo produces asphalt products, process oils and lubricants, and is owned by the Unipetrol group. What matters for a handset is the mix of hazards. Hydrocarbon vapours and hydrogen in the refineries; ethylene in the cracker; butadiene, a flammable gas, at a rubber plant; hot bitumen and process oil at Pardubice, where the hazard is more about flash point and temperature class than about gas group. The point to take from that is that a single device standard has to be cleared against each site's own drawings.
Without a port, supply is constrained by pipeline capacity, and that makes planned shutdowns carefully timed. The practical requirements follow from that.

The target of II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4 covers hydrogen areas and the lower groups. The certificate states the exact scope, and each operator's drawings decide where it applies.
Polymer powder, rubber crumb and similar materials are classified by the operator as dust zones. Zone 21 is part of the same design target.
Instructions and the declaration of conformity are being prepared in Czech alongside English, which an operator's HSE file will want.
Where sites sit next to each other, a common standard simplifies fleet management, although each operator reviews it separately.
Operators record readings and photograph defects on long rounds across a large site, with no safe-area charging on the way.
Contractor teams work from permits and drawings on the device, which the operator can restrict to approved applications.
Gantry and rail operators record loads and incidents without leaving the classified boundary.
Each operator has its own equipment review and none of the registration routes has been verified for this page.
No. It is pre-launch and ATEX certification is in progress ahead of the Q4 2026 launch.
The hazards differ. Butadiene and the polymer finishing areas have their own classification, so the zone and gas group should be confirmed from that plant's drawings.
It changes where crude arrives from, not how the plants are classified. The process units are classified on the same basis as any other refinery.
No. Each site is reviewed separately even where the owner is the same group.
Tell us the site, the zone and gas group, and roughly how many handsets. The SAMS team replies by email with the datasheet and the certification schedule for Czech Republic. The IS-04Z1 is pre-launch and certification is in progress, so there is no list price yet; indicative pricing is issued in writing against a stated quantity and site.
Tell us the zone, gas group and operator. We will send the datasheet and the certification schedule for your market.
