Bintulu, in Sarawak, is where most Malaysian LNG is made. The complex lies about 20 km from the town on a site of roughly 276 hectares. The Bintulu complex began with its first train in August 1982, and the first cargo went to Japan in January 1983. It now has nine liquefaction trains: three at MLNG Satu, three at MLNG Dua, two at MLNG Tiga and a ninth train added later by a PETRONAS subsidiary. Combined capacity is close to 30 million tonnes a year. Feed gas arrives by pipeline from offshore Sarawak fields, is treated to remove carbon dioxide and water, and is cooled to a liquid at about minus 162 degrees Celsius before going to storage tanks and ships. The hazard picture is mostly natural gas and the hydrocarbon refrigerants used in the cooling loops, which means gas groups IIA and IIB rather than hydrogen or acetylene. What makes Bintulu hard on a handset is scale: the trains, storage tanks and jetties are far apart, and the weather is hot, humid and often wet.
Natural gas decides the protection concept. Bintulu's heat, rain and distances decide how well a handset lasts through a shift. These are the points that matter at this site.
Each of the nine trains is its own cluster of towers, pipework and compressors. A round that touches three of them is a long walk, and there is no safe-area charging point between them. The 4,000 mAh battery is specified for a full shift with the camera and GNSS in use.

Methane is gas group IIA and has a high ignition energy, so the real discipline is the temperature class and keeping unapproved devices out. The ATEX marking target is II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4, which exceeds the group needed for natural gas and covers heavier hydrocarbons and hydrogen should any come into the area.
LNG plants regulate cameras. The IS-04Z1 is managed from existing MDM consoles under Android Enterprise, so a site can disable the camera or limit apps to an approved list, and restore them for authorised inspection work.

An outside operator on a liquefaction train records compressor vibration and temperature readings, photographs a seal weep and phones the control room. The device takes the place of a radio, a camera and a paper log, subject to the site's own policy.
During a train turnaround, planners track work orders against a position in the plant. GNSS and photographs captured at the work front reduce the end-of-shift rewrite of what was done and where.

Yes. Classification zones around tanks, relief valves, vents and loading arms follow the plant's own hazardous-area drawings, which come from the engineering contractor and are reviewed over the life of the plant. The handset's certificate must cover the zone, gas group and temperature class on those drawings.
