Winter lows below minus 30 degrees
Cold spells in Heilongjiang can pass minus 30 degrees Celsius. Cold cuts lithium battery capacity, and the exact operating range will be stated on the certificate once issued, not promised in advance.
Daqing was discovered in 1959 in the Songliao Basin of Heilongjiang and is operated by PetroChina. This page is for the HSE, production and telecoms teams who need an explosion proof mobile phone in China that works across a mature oilfield, its gathering stations and the winter that comes with it. The IS-04Z1 is designed around intrinsic safety rather than a flameproof enclosure.
Launching Q4 2026 · NEPSI certification programme in progress
Daqing is not one plant but a field covering a very large area around Daqing city, with a great many wells connected by flowlines to metering rooms, transfer stations and treatment plants. Production is sustained by chemical enhanced recovery. Published research dates polymer flooding at Daqing to the mid-1990s and alkali-surfactant-polymer flooding to pilots in 1994 and large-scale use from 2007, and polymer flooding has kept the field above 10 million tonnes a year for about 14 years. Most recently the Gulong shale oil block inside the field has passed one million tonnes of annual output, according to Xinhua in December 2025. For a handset the result is a field where old gathering infrastructure, injection stations and new shale wellpads sit in the same area, with associated gas at wellheads and separators, chemical handling at injection stations, and PetroChina refining and petrochemical plants nearby in Daqing.
Heilongjiang's winter is the first thing every Daqing engineer mentions. Distance, age of plant and constant contractor traffic come next.

Pad and station names repeat across a field this size. Four-constellation GNSS puts a coordinate on a fault record, and the 50 MP camera puts a legible photograph next to it.
Winter rounds are done on iced surfaces and through thaw. IP68 sealing keeps meltwater and slush out of the device, which can be wiped and dried rather than kept inside a coat.
Original 1960s-era wellsites share the field with later recovery plant and new shale pads. A Zone 1 design target is meant to work across all of them without separate devices.
Workover and construction crews arrive under permits that change daily. Enrolling handsets in an existing MDM console lets the field restrict applications and switch the camera off in sensitive areas.
Daqing is organised around operating units that each own a block of wells and stations, with operators on regular rounds and specialist crews called out for workover, pipeline and electrical faults. Heavy construction and shutdown work tends to cluster in the warmer months. The field is one of PetroChina's most visible assets, so its HSE teams are used to detailed equipment submissions. We have not verified a published supplier-registration route at Daqing and do not name one. Ask the oilfield company's procurement and HSE teams which Ex certificates, test reports and local approvals they accept, and whether a China-registered supplier is required. NEPSI is among the certification routes in progress ahead of the Q4 2026 launch.
An operator checks heaters, separators and tank levels at a transfer station, photographs a frozen valve or a leaking seal and sends the coordinate and image to the control centre.
A crew sent to a failed pump has to find the pad, read the permit and report completion. One enrolled handset replaces the paper permit, the radio and the camera.
Newer shale pads bring drilling, fracturing and testing crews into one site in quick succession. The handset carries the pad plan and permit and is managed centrally like every other device.
The operating temperature range will be stated on the certificate and datasheet once testing completes. We do not quote a figure before it exists, so ask for the schedule and check it against your coldest site.
Injection stations for polymer and surfactant are mostly a chemical-handling matter, but they sit close to classified gathering plant. The site's own area classification decides, and the handset should follow it.
They are classified by the same rules, but pads with active drilling and testing have larger temporary zones. Confirm the current drawing for the pad rather than assuming the older field's boundaries.
No. It is pre-launch and certification, including the NEPSI route, is in progress ahead of Q4 2026. Do not take it into a classified area before the certificate exists.
Tell us the site, the zone and gas group, and roughly how many handsets. The SAMS team replies by email with the datasheet and the certification schedule for China. The IS-04Z1 is pre-launch and certification is in progress, so there is no list price yet; indicative pricing is issued in writing against a stated quantity and site.
Tell us the zone, gas group and operator. We will send the datasheet and the certification schedule for your market.
