RAKEZ reported 50,000 active companies in August 2026, so classified areas are scattered across many small industrial sites.
A creek divides the city into the old town in the west and Al Nakheel in the east, so road routes between industrial and residential areas can be indirect. Hazardous-area work is smaller in scale than in Abu Dhabi and arises mainly from fuel gas, solvents and dust. A hazardous area smartphone distributor in Ras Al Khaimah would carry the IS-04Z1 to these buyers once certification completes.

UAE mobile phones need type approval from the federal regulator, which accepts European documents; certificates are renewed every three years and a valid supplier register is needed.
RAKEZ is reported to support more than 50 sectors, so hazard profiles range from food and chemicals to metals and building materials rather than one dominant process.
A hazardous area is a place where flammable gas, vapour or combustible dust may be present. Standards divide these into zones: Zones 0, 1 and 2 for gas and vapour, and Zones 20, 21 and 22 for dust. Zone 1 and Zone 21 are the tier where an explosive atmosphere is likely to occur in normal operation, which is where the IS-04Z1 is designed to work. Anything carried in must be marked for the zone, gas group and temperature class of the area.
No certificate has been issued for the IS-04Z1 yet, so it must not be taken into a classified area until the certificate covering it exists and the site operator has accepted it.

It depends on what the site handles. Port fuel, pharmaceutical solvents and kiln fuel or powder areas may be classified, while offices are not. The operator classifies its own areas. Ask the site's HSE officer whether any area you visit is classified before choosing a device.
