Seatrium's own contact page lists a Pioneer Yard at 50 Gul Road, a Benoi Yard at 15 Benoi Road and a Tuas Yard at 51 Pioneer Sector 1.
ST Engineering bought the roughly 141,000 square metre Gul yard in 2023 for ship repair, in addition to its Benoi yard, which is mainly for shipbuilding.
Pioneer is bounded by Jurong West, Boon Lay, Tuas and the Jurong Strait, and has five subzones: Benoi Sector, Gul Basin, Gul Circle, Joo Koon and Pioneer Sector.
The area was once called Jalan Besi, meaning Metal Road, until JTC renamed local roads in English during the development of Jurong Industrial Estate.
The equatorial climate brings year-round heat and humidity with frequent heavy showers, which affects outdoor shipyard work and the handling of electronic equipment.
Basic worker residential blocks are provided at Benoi Sector and Pioneer Road, so much of the yard workforce lives close to the sites and arrives on foot or by company transport.
“Industrial” describes a phone built for plant conditions: sealed, drop-resistant and manageable at fleet scale through Android Enterprise. It does not by itself mean the phone may enter a classified area. Only a device with a valid explosion-protection certificate and marking may do that.
The IS-04Z1 is designed to be both an industrial Android phone (IP68, 4,000 mAh battery, 50 MP camera, Android 16 with EMM and MDM support) and an intrinsically safe one. Its explosion-protection certificates are in progress and have not been issued.
In Pioneer, Jurong Industrial Estate. Mixed tenants, including Seatrium and the ST Engineering Gul yard, run separate fleets and subcontractors. The IS-04Z1 runs Android 16 and is designed for EMM and MDM, so each employer could manage its handsets. Charging should happen in an unclassified area away from paint shops and tanks.
SAMS is appointing authorised distributors ahead of the Q4 2026 launch. No territory has been granted for Pioneer, Jurong Industrial Estate yet and applications are reviewed company by company. Because a certified Ex device cannot be opened by an ordinary phone workshop without invalidating its certificate, SAMS looks for partners who can provide competent technical support and after-sales service locally.
Not yet. The IS-04Z1 is pre-launch and its certification is still in progress ahead of a Q4 2026 launch. No unit goes into a classified area before the certificate covering it exists. The datasheet, the certification schedule and safe-area evaluation units are available now.
No price is published. While certification is in progress there is no list price and no committed lead time, and a supplier quoting a firm figure for an uncertified Ex handset is promising something it cannot stand behind. Indicative pre-launch pricing is issued in writing against a stated quantity and site.
