Cilacap, on the south coast of Central Java, has Pertamina's Refinery Unit IV, the largest in Indonesia at 348,000 barrels per day. PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, a Pertamina subsidiary, manages the refinery and has appointed outside consultants for asset integrity work, so contractor engagement typically runs through that company's procurement rules. An industrial smartphone distributor in Cilacap Refinery, Central Java would carry the IS-04Z1 to these buyers once certification completes.

Hot, humid tropical conditions with a heavy rainy season.
Refinery Unit IV is in Central Java and plays a critical role in meeting domestic fuel and petrochemical needs for the island, which makes shutdowns carefully planned events.
Cilacap is Indonesia's largest refinery at about 348 thousand barrels a day, ahead of Balikpapan, Dumai, Musi, Balongan and Tuban, which together made up the national refining capacity of 1.15 million barrels a day at the end of 2024.
Cilacap's port is one of only a few on Java's southern coast able to handle ships of reasonable tonnage, sheltered by Nusakambangan island, and Tunggul Wulung Airport offers scheduled flights to Jakarta and Semarang.
The asset programme includes a physical verification of the facility, an equipment criticality assessment and identification of safety critical elements, which shows asset registers and safety-critical equipment lists are being formalised on site.
“Industrial” describes a phone built for plant conditions: sealed, drop-resistant and manageable at fleet scale through Android Enterprise. It does not by itself mean the phone may enter a classified area. Only a device with a valid explosion-protection certificate and marking may do that.
The IS-04Z1 is designed to be both an industrial Android phone (IP68, 4,000 mAh battery, 50 MP camera, Android 16 with EMM and MDM support) and an intrinsically safe one. Its explosion-protection certificates are in progress and have not been issued.
In Cilacap Refinery, Central Java. A refinery supplying about a third of national fuel demand runs a large workforce and many contractors. A device fleet would need MDM or EMM enrolment, clear asset ownership and a charging point in a safe area. Radio coverage across a large site should be checked first.
A distributor for Cilacap Refinery, Central Java would carry the IS-04Z1 after certification completes; the Q4 2026 launch is the planning date and no appointment has been made. SAMS reviews applicants one by one and prefers companies with their own Ex-competent technical and service staff, since certified devices must not be repaired outside approved channels.
No. Nothing can be bought or taken into a classified area today: certification is in progress and launch is planned for Q4 2026. What is available now is the datasheet, the written certification schedule and evaluation units for safe-area use.
SAMS has not published a price. Any figure you are offered for an uncertified Ex phone should be treated with caution; written indicative pricing is available for a defined quantity and site.
Yes by design: IP68 sealing, a 4,000 mAh battery, a 50 MP camera and Android 16 with EMM and MDM support. The explosion-protection certificates are separate and still in progress.
Likely candidates are refinery process units, crude and product tank farms, marine loading facilities. Which areas are classified, and to what zone, is set by the site operator's own area classification drawings.
Apply through the distributor page with your company details and the territory you cover. SAMS reviews applications company by company and has not yet granted a territory for Cilacap Refinery, Central Java.
It can be, because a refinery of this size typically runs continuous operations and periodic turnarounds that need many handheld devices. Plan spares, batteries and chargers in line with site rules, and check import and radio type-approval requirements first.
Refinery Unit IV is part of Pertamina's refining business under PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional. Suppliers and contractors typically register through Pertamina procurement and follow the unit's own safety induction and permit-to-work rules, so confirm the current route with the refinery.
Only indirectly. Published capacity figures vary slightly, but what matters for a device is the area classification and the operator's approval rules. Ask Pertamina for the current zone drawings and equipment procedure. Confirm with the site operator.
