Refinery access
Daura refinery lies in a district on the edge of the city; visits and deliveries to refineries normally need operator-issued permits and advance planning.
Baghdad is Iraq's capital and the headquarters of the Ministry of Oil and State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO). The city is described as a primary financial and commercial centre of the region, so business meetings and approvals are often held here even when the work is elsewhere. An industrial smartphone distributor in Baghdad would carry the IS-04Z1 to these buyers once certification completes.

Summer maximum temperatures average around 44 C with dry sunshine, which matters for the thermal limits of handheld devices used outdoors.
Baghdad is the headquarters base of Iraq National Oil Company, the State Organization for Marketing of Oil and Iraqi Airways, so many oil-sector approvals and procurement decisions are taken in the capital.
Umm Qasr port in the south is linked to Baghdad by railway, so heavy equipment often arrives via the south and moves north by road or rail.
Dusty winds called sharqi blow in summer, which is a reminder to choose portable devices with good dust ingress protection.
Summers from May to October are very hot and dry, with temperatures above 46 degrees Celsius, and winters are wetter and cooler, down to around 10 degrees on average.
“Industrial” describes a phone built for plant conditions: sealed, drop-resistant and manageable at fleet scale through Android Enterprise. It does not by itself mean the phone may enter a classified area. Only a device with a valid explosion-protection certificate and marking may do that.
The IS-04Z1 is designed to be both an industrial Android phone (IP68, 4,000 mAh battery, 50 MP camera, Android 16 with EMM and MDM support) and an intrinsically safe one. Its explosion-protection certificates are in progress and have not been issued.
In Baghdad. Fleets in Baghdad tend to be shared between ministry staff, local contractors and visiting specialists, so device enrolment matters. The IS-04Z1 supports EMM and MDM, which lets an administrator manage apps and settings across crews. Charging should happen in a designated safe area, such as an office or gatehouse, not inside a classified unit.
SAMS is appointing authorised distributors ahead of the Q4 2026 launch. No territory has been granted for Baghdad yet and applications are reviewed company by company. Because a certified Ex device cannot be opened by an ordinary phone workshop without invalidating its certificate, SAMS looks for partners who can provide competent technical support and after-sales service locally.
Not today. Until the certificates are issued the IS-04Z1 stays out of classified areas, and until launch there is nothing to purchase. You can ask for the datasheet and the certification schedule, or book a safe-area evaluation unit.
No price is published. While certification is in progress there is no list price and no committed lead time, and a supplier quoting a firm figure for an uncertified Ex handset is promising something it cannot stand behind. Indicative pre-launch pricing is issued in writing against a stated quantity and site.
Yes by design: IP68 sealing, a 4,000 mAh battery, a 50 MP camera and Android 16 with EMM and MDM support. The explosion-protection certificates are separate and still in progress.
Likely candidates are refinery process units, fuel and lpg storage, pipeline pumping stations. Which areas are classified, and to what zone, is set by the site operator's own area classification drawings.

Yes. Summers are very hot and dry, and thermal limits matter for devices used outdoors. Check the ambient temperature range stated in the certificate once issued, avoid leaving the phone in direct sun and charge only in a safe area. Confirm any limits with the site operator.
