Greece: logistics and access
The 213 km Thessaloniki-Skopje pipeline resumed operations at the beginning of 2026 after a 13-year suspension, so product pipeline terminals are active again at both ends.
The IS-04Z1 is an intrinsically safe Android handset designed for Zone 1 and Zone 21, built for refinery rounds in the Attica heat, gas terminal work at Revithoussa and Alexandroupolis, and the cargo and bunker operations that run out of Piraeus. HelleniQ Energy operated 1,475 service stations in Greece in 2026, so fuel forecourts with classified areas are spread across the mainland and islands. Distribution partners for Greece are being identified ahead of the Q4 2026 launch of the IS-04Z1.
Pre-launch · certification in progress · Launching Q4 2026
Short answer. Greece has no appointed SAMS distributor yet: the IS-04Z1 is pre-launch (certification in progress, no certificate issued, launch planned for Q4 2026), and distributor applications are open.
Where things stand: the IS-04Z1 has not launched, and none of its four certification routes has produced a certificate yet. A buyer's engineering review is separate from the certificate. Certification status. Place facts reviewed October 2026.

The 213 km Thessaloniki-Skopje pipeline resumed operations at the beginning of 2026 after a 13-year suspension, so product pipeline terminals are active again at both ends.
A 390 MW natural gas power station in Thessaloniki opened in 2005 and is run by a subsidiary, adding gas-fired power to the refinery complex.
HelleniQ Energy, formerly Hellenic Petroleum, operates three refineries at Thessaloniki, Elefsina and Aspropyrgos with 57% of national refining capacity; Motor Oil Hellas holds the remaining 43%.
Greece imported about 496,600 barrels of oil a day against domestic production of 7,946, according to the cited 2011 data, so imported crude moves through port terminals and tank farms.
A hazardous area is a place where flammable gas, vapour or combustible dust may be present. Standards divide these into zones: Zones 0, 1 and 2 for gas and vapour, and Zones 20, 21 and 22 for dust. Zone 1 and Zone 21 are the tier where an explosive atmosphere is likely to occur in normal operation, which is where the IS-04Z1 is designed to work. Anything carried in must be marked for the zone, gas group and temperature class of the area.
No certificate has been issued for the IS-04Z1 yet, so it must not be taken into a classified area until the certificate covering it exists and the site operator has accepted it.
In Greece. Greek classified areas include four coastal refineries, the Revithoussa LNG terminal, the floating regasification unit at Alexandroupolis, compressor stations in Thrace, fuel terminals and ship-repair yards. The operator or yard authority classifies each area. SAMS does not; the device is designed for Zone 1 and Zone 21.
SAMS is appointing authorised distributors ahead of the Q4 2026 launch. No territory has been granted for Greece yet and applications are reviewed company by company. Because a certified Ex device cannot be opened by an ordinary phone workshop without invalidating its certificate, SAMS looks for partners who can provide competent technical support and after-sales service locally.
Not yet. The IS-04Z1 is pre-launch and its certification is still in progress ahead of a Q4 2026 launch. No unit goes into a classified area before the certificate covering it exists. The datasheet, the certification schedule and safe-area evaluation units are available now.
There is no list price yet. SAMS gives indicative pre-launch pricing in writing, against a stated quantity and site, and does not commit to a lead time before certification completes.
Zone 1 and Zone 21 (gas and dust) with gas group IIC and temperature class T4, subject to certification. It must not be used in a classified area before its certificate is issued and the site has accepted it.

Apply through the distributor page with your company details and the territory you cover. SAMS reviews applications company by company and has not yet granted a territory for Greece.
Mainland refineries are reachable by road, but islands depend on ferry or air freight and timetables vary by season. Order spare batteries and chargers early, and confirm with the operator whether devices must be registered before shipment to the site.
Hot summers and direct sun can push device temperatures up, which affects battery safety and display visibility. Check the maximum ambient temperature on the certificate, and avoid leaving devices on hot surfaces. Offshore and island sites also add salt air that can affect connectors.
Shipyards and refineries may follow different regimes and have different zone definitions. A device would need a marking suitable for each area it enters. Ask each operator or yard authority what evidence and permits they require before carrying a handset in.
