The planning area has a population density of about 4 people per square kilometre and sits within the Jurong Industrial Estate developed by JTC.
Seatrium's own contact page lists a Pioneer Yard at 50 Gul Road, a Benoi Yard at 15 Benoi Road and a Tuas Yard at 51 Pioneer Sector 1.
The area was once called Jalan Besi, meaning Metal Road, until JTC renamed local roads in English during the development of Jurong Industrial Estate.
The equatorial climate brings year-round heat and humidity with frequent heavy showers, which affects outdoor shipyard work and the handling of electronic equipment.
Work at Seatrium's Singapore yards includes dry-docking, retrofitting, life extension and conversion of floating production vessels, gas carriers, tankers and jack-up rigs.
Basic worker residential blocks are provided at Benoi Sector and Pioneer Road, so much of the yard workforce lives close to the sites and arrives on foot or by company transport.
“Ex-proof” is shorthand for equipment carrying an explosion-protection marking (the Ex mark) that matches the area it enters. The marking states the protection concept, gas or dust group and temperature class, and it must be backed by a certificate issued by a recognised body, so a phone described as Ex-proof should come with a certificate number you can check.
The IS-04Z1 is designed to carry the marking II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4. That is a target: certification is in progress, no certificate has been issued, and SAMS will publish the certificate numbers when they exist.
In Pioneer, Jurong Industrial Estate. Paint and coating shops and vessel work involve solvent vapour, so a marking check reads zone, gas group and temperature class from the tenant's own classification. Each tenant has a different hazard profile. The IS-04Z1 target marking is II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4, still a target.
A distributor for Pioneer, Jurong Industrial Estate would carry the IS-04Z1 after certification completes; the Q4 2026 launch is the planning date and no appointment has been made. There is no list price yet. SAMS gives indicative pre-launch pricing in writing, against a stated quantity and site, and does not commit to a lead time before certification completes.
The marking target is II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4. It becomes a marking only when the certificate is issued; until then it is a design target.

No. Each tenant has a different hazard profile, and classification is set tenant by tenant. A coating shop, a dry dock and a fabrication yard can differ. Confirm with the site operator which areas, if any, are classified before choosing a handheld for the task.
