Czech Republic: infrastructure
The Gazela pipeline connects Czech gas supply through Germany at Brandov or Rozvadov and through Slovakia at Lanžhot, so compressor and metering stations sit near the borders.
The IS-04Z1 is an intrinsically safe Android handset designed for Zone 1 and Zone 21, built for Czech refineries, chemical plants, tank farms and coke ovens rather than for a catalogue. Buyers searching for an IECEx cell phone supplier for Czech Republic can take the datasheet and the certification schedule for the IS-04Z1 now; supply follows certification.
Pre-launch · certification in progress · Launching Q4 2026
Short answer. An IECEx cell phone for Czech Republic cannot be bought yet: the SAMS IS-04Z1 is pre-launch (certification in progress, no certificate issued), and the datasheet, certification schedule and safe-area evaluation units are available now.
For the record, no certificate exists for the IS-04Z1 today. The programme is under way ahead of a Q4 2026 launch. A buyer's engineering review is separate from the certificate. Certification status. Place facts reviewed October 2026.

An intrinsically safe Android smartphone designed for Zone 1 and Zone 21 hazardous areas in Czech Republic. It is pre-launch: IECEx, ATEX and NEC 500 certification is in progress ahead of the Q4 2026 launch.
The classified areas, operators and sites below are the ones covered in the SAMS Czech Republic market guide.
The Gazela pipeline connects Czech gas supply through Germany at Brandov or Rozvadov and through Slovakia at Lanžhot, so compressor and metering stations sit near the borders.
In 2022 electricity production was 78.8 TWh, of which 53.6% came from fossil fuels, mostly lignite, and 40.95% from nuclear, so coal-handling plants and power stations are typical dust and gas sites.
ATEX equipment is split into Group I for mining and Group II for surface industries, which matters in a country with coal mining as well as refining and chemicals.
Gas use was 9.4 billion cubic metres in 2021 and 7.1 billion in 2023, so gas distribution and industrial gas burners remain widespread across Czech industry.
IECEx is the international scheme for certifying equipment used in explosive atmospheres. A certificate of conformity is issued by an accredited certification body against a specific edition of the IEC 60079 standards and carries a schedule of conditions of safe use. It is not a legal requirement in most countries on its own, but many national schemes accept it as the technical basis.
The IECEx certificate for the IS-04Z1 is in progress and has not been issued. The marking target is Ex ib IIC T4, the intrinsic safety concept for Zone 1 gas with the hardest gas group (IIC) and a 135 °C temperature class.
In Czech Republic. Within the Czech Republic ATEX decides acceptance, so IECEx is useful mainly where Orlen Unipetrol, Synthos, Deza or Třinecké železárny work with non-EU contractors or share specifications with sites abroad. The certificate of conformity and schedule of conditions are read alongside the ATEX file. Both are in progress, and no certificate has been issued.
There is no stock to order for Czech Republic yet. The IS-04Z1 is pre-launch, certification is in progress, and supply will run through authorised distributors after the certificates are issued. Procurement teams can prepare now with the datasheet, the certification schedule and a safe-area evaluation.

No. Nothing can be bought or taken into a classified area today: certification is in progress and launch is planned for Q4 2026. What is available now is the datasheet, the written certification schedule and evaluation units for safe-area use.
SAMS has not published a price. Any figure you are offered for an uncertified Ex phone should be treated with caution; written indicative pricing is available for a defined quantity and site.
No. The IECEx certificate is in progress and has not been issued. SAMS will publish the number when it exists.
The market guide for Czech Republic covers Litvínov and Záluží, Kralupy nad Vltavou, Neratovice, Valašské Meziříčí, among others. Site-level pages are linked below.
Through authorised distributors once certificates exist. Until then SAMS can send the datasheet and certification schedule and arrange safe-area evaluation units.
Yes. ATEX separates Group I equipment for mining from Group II for surface industries, and methane and coal dust conditions underground differ from refinery gas and vapour. Check the Group marking on any device against the area and the mine operator's own approval process.
Crude arrives by pipeline from Germany and Italy, with storage at depots such as Nelahozeves, so many classified areas are at pumping and storage sites rather than ports. Terminal operators run their own induction and device registration, so schedule approvals early for shutdown work.
Czech law expects the instructions in Czech, so the manual, safe-use guidance and declaration of conformity are planned in Czech alongside English, with a Czech interface on Android 16. That is planned into the launch rather than translated afterwards. Certification is in progress. Check requirements with your safety officer.
