Plumpang depot
Pertamina describes the Plumpang terminal as supporting about 15 percent of national fuel supply, with storage of roughly 290,000 kilolitres.
Jakarta's classified-area work is concentrated in fuel storage around the Tanjung Priok port and at Pertamina's Plumpang depot rather than across the city. Indonesian is the official language and the main language of public life, and the population has no ethnic majority, including Javanese, Betawi, Sundanese and Chinese Indonesian communities. Distribution partners for Jakarta (Tanjung Priok fuel terminals) are being identified ahead of the Q4 2026 launch of the IS-04Z1.
Pre-launch · certification in progress · Launching Q4 2026
Short answer. Jakarta (Tanjung Priok fuel terminals) has no appointed SAMS distributor yet: the IS-04Z1 is pre-launch (certification in progress, no certificate issued, launch planned for Q4 2026), and distributor applications are open.
Current position: certification in progress, nothing issued, launch targeted for Q4 2026. A buyer's engineering review is separate from the certificate. Certification status. Place facts reviewed October 2026.

An intrinsically safe Android smartphone designed for Zone 1 and Zone 21 hazardous areas in Jakarta. It is pre-launch: IECEx, ATEX and NEC 500 certification is in progress ahead of the Q4 2026 launch.

Pertamina describes the Plumpang terminal as supporting about 15 percent of national fuel supply, with storage of roughly 290,000 kilolitres.
Terminals sit in a dense port and urban area, so site entry and permits are controlled by each operator.
Jakarta is the seat of national administration, and the central government laid the legal groundwork in 2022 to move the capital to Nusantara, though legal capital functions remain in Jakarta until a presidential decree.
The city has a tropical monsoon climate with heavy rain from December to March and a drier period from June to September, and flooding is common in the rainy season.
The metropolitan area depends heavily on road transport and suffers severe congestion, with the inner and outer ring roads, toll roads to Tangerang, Cikampek and Bogor, and odd-even plate rules on 16 main roads.
Land subsidence from groundwater extraction and building weight raises coastal flood risk in north Jakarta, and the flood-control approach relies on canals, dredging, pumping stations and coastal defences.
ATEX is the European legal framework for equipment used in explosive atmospheres (Directive 2014/34/EU). IECEx is the international certification scheme built on the IEC 60079 standards. Buyers outside Europe often ask for both: an IECEx certificate is the technical evidence most national regimes build on, while ATEX is the legal route into the European market.
For the IS-04Z1 both routes are in progress with TÜV in Germany and neither certificate has been issued. The marking target is II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4: equipment Group II (surface industry), Category 2 (Zone 1 gas), protection concept ib (intrinsic safety), gas group IIC and temperature class T4.
In Jakarta (Tanjung Priok fuel terminals). A reviewer at Tanjung Priok or Plumpang would expect certificate evidence matched to the marking, with its schedule of conditions. The IS-04Z1 evidence is in progress. A dual ATEX and IECEx route suits terminal operators with international shareholders and service contractors working across several ports.
A distributor for Jakarta (Tanjung Priok fuel terminals) would carry the IS-04Z1 after certification completes; the Q4 2026 launch is the planning date and no appointment has been made. SAMS reviews applicants one by one and prefers companies with their own Ex-competent technical and service staff, since certified devices must not be repaired outside approved channels.
No. Nothing can be bought or taken into a classified area today: certification is in progress and launch is planned for Q4 2026. What is available now is the datasheet, the written certification schedule and evaluation units for safe-area use.
No price is published. While certification is in progress there is no list price and no committed lead time, and a supplier quoting a firm figure for an uncertified Ex handset is promising something it cannot stand behind. Indicative pre-launch pricing is issued in writing against a stated quantity and site.
Not yet. Both routes are in progress with TÜV in Germany and no certificate has been issued. Any listing that says otherwise is wrong.
Likely candidates are fuel storage terminals, tanker loading and jetties, port fuel handling. Which areas are classified, and to what zone, is set by the site operator's own area classification drawings.
Apply through the distributor page with your company details and the territory you cover. SAMS reviews applications company by company and has not yet granted a territory for Jakarta (Tanjung Priok fuel terminals).
Allow generous time because congestion is severe and flooding is common from December to March. Schedule deliveries outside peak hours where possible, protect electronics from moisture in transit, and confirm customs clearance with your freight agent.
Mostly the latter. Head offices, regulators and procurement teams are in Jakarta, while the plants, refineries and terminals are elsewhere in Java and beyond. Many suppliers meet buyers in Jakarta, then deliver to sites such as the industrial estates around Bekasi and Tangerang.
Not really. Classified-area work is concentrated at fuel terminals around Tanjung Priok and Plumpang, not across the city. Offices and most industrial buildings need no Ex equipment. Ask each terminal for its classification and permit rules. Confirm with the site operator.
