The Sangachal Terminal Expansion Program started in November 2001 with a budget of 1.2 to 2 billion US dollars and included accommodation for about 550 people on site.

What “industrial” means for a smartphone
“Industrial” describes a phone built for plant conditions: sealed, drop-resistant and manageable at fleet scale through Android Enterprise. It does not by itself mean the phone may enter a classified area. Only a device with a valid explosion-protection certificate and marking may do that.
The IS-04Z1 is designed to be both an industrial Android phone (IP68, 4,000 mAh battery, 50 MP camera, Android 16 with EMM and MDM support) and an intrinsically safe one. Its explosion-protection certificates are in progress and have not been issued.
In Azerbaijan. Handsets here move between operator staff and contractors, including yards and marine contractors. Android 16 with EMM and MDM support allows enrolment, remote lock and remote wipe, with Azerbaijani, Russian and English language settings. Offshore the device falls back to platform Wi-Fi, and charging is done in a safe area, not in the process module.

Not exactly. Explosion proof is a broad everyday term; intrinsic safety is one protection concept, which limits energy so ignition cannot occur. Flameproof (Ex d) is a different concept that contains an explosion. The IS-04Z1 is intrinsically safe by design.
Who sets equipment rules at Sangachal?
The BP-led operating consortium sets site HSE, permit and equipment rules, applying its own standards on top of national requirements. Contractors normally follow the operator's induction and approved-equipment procedures, so ask the operator's HSE team which certificates and registers apply.
Do wireless devices need type approval in Azerbaijan?
A compliance agent describes type approval from the national telecom authority as mandatory for products with wireless components, with an average lead time of about three weeks and no label or sample requirement. Treat this as a guide and confirm current rules with the ministry or a local agent.
Which languages will documentation and the interface support?
Android 16 offers Azerbaijani, Russian and English language settings, and documentation in those three languages is expected on site. Whether a given operator requires one of them specifically is a procurement question.
