Industrial Mobile Phone Distributor in Texas Oil Fields

Texas is the largest US crude oil producer, with onshore fields concentrated in the Permian Basin in the west and the historic East Texas field. As wells in the east of the state depleted, drilling moved westward, and today the busiest activity is in West Texas and under the Gulf of Mexico. Distribution partners for Texas oil and gas fields are being identified ahead of the Q4 2026 launch of the IS-04Z1.

Fields

Drilling shifted west as eastern fields such as East Texas, discovered in 1930, declined. The Permian Basin now dominates onshore output.

Regulation

The Railroad Commission of Texas oversees oil and gas exploration, production and transport, including hydrogen sulphide safety.

Thirty refineries operating in January 2019 made up 31 percent of national refining capacity, so oilfield and refinery work is closely linked.

Texas oil and gas fields: background

The first major Spindletop well was drilled on 10 January 1901, and the East Texas Oil Field, found in 1930, is the largest and most prolific oil reservoir in the contiguous United States.

The term · industrial

What “industrial” means for a smartphone

“Industrial” describes a phone built for plant conditions: sealed, drop-resistant and manageable at fleet scale through Android Enterprise. It does not by itself mean the phone may enter a classified area. Only a device with a valid explosion-protection certificate and marking may do that.

The IS-04Z1 is designed to be both an industrial Android phone (IP68, 4,000 mAh battery, 50 MP camera, Android 16 with EMM and MDM support) and an intrinsically safe one. Its explosion-protection certificates are in progress and have not been issued.

In Texas oil and gas fields. Texas producers and field service contractors run mixed fleets across many leases. EMM or MDM enrolment would let a contractor apply each client's policy to the IS-04Z1. Charging takes place in safe areas such as vehicles and yards, and offline operation should be tested for remote leases.

Questions · Texas Oil Fields

Frequently asked questions

Can we buy an industrial mobile phone in Texas Oil Fields today?

Not yet. The IS-04Z1 is pre-launch and its certification is still in progress ahead of a Q4 2026 launch. No unit goes into a classified area before the certificate covering it exists. The datasheet, the certification schedule and safe-area evaluation units are available now.

What does an industrial mobile phone in Texas Oil Fields cost?

No price is published. While certification is in progress there is no list price and no committed lead time, and a supplier quoting a firm figure for an uncertified Ex handset is promising something it cannot stand behind. Indicative pre-launch pricing is issued in writing against a stated quantity and site.

Is the IS-04Z1 an industrial phone as well as an Ex phone?

Yes by design: IP68 sealing, a 4,000 mAh battery, a 50 MP camera and Android 16 with EMM and MDM support. The explosion-protection certificates are separate and still in progress.

Which areas at Texas oil and gas fields would use it?

Likely candidates are wellsites and tank batteries, drilling rigs, compressor stations, gas processing plants. Which areas are classified, and to what zone, is set by the site operator's own area classification drawings.

How do I become a SAMS distributor for Texas oil and gas fields?

Apply through the distributor page with your company details and the territory you cover. SAMS reviews applications company by company and has not yet granted a territory for Texas oil and gas fields.

Which authority regulates oil and gas operations in Texas?

The Railroad Commission of Texas regulates oil and gas production, pipelines and LPG safety, while each operator sets its own electrical safety and equipment rules. For equipment approvals, ask the operator which marks and standards they accept.

Which hazardous-area system is common in Texas?

US sites commonly use the National Electrical Code, which includes both a Class and Division approach and a Zone approach, and equipment is typically tested by a recognised US laboratory. The operator's area classification is the deciding document.

Do older and newer Texas fields need different checks?

Classification is site-specific, whatever the field's age. A wellsite, tank battery, compressor station or gas plant each has its own classification and drawings. Compare the IS-04Z1 target marking against each, and ask the operator about permit rules. Certification is still in progress.
