Angola: logistics and access
Sonangol's logistics arm SONILS runs an onshore petroleum supply base of about two million square metres in Luanda Bay with a 2 km quay, inaugurated in 1995 and later extended in 1998, 2004, 2008 and 2012.
A Zone 1 / Zone 21 smartphone for crews on Angola's deepwater FPSOs, the Cabinda and Soyo onshore facilities, Angola LNG and the Luanda refinery. Cabinda is an exclave province of Angola, separated from the rest of the country by territory of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which affects how people and equipment are moved there. An industrial mobile phone distributor in Angola would carry the IS-04Z1 to these buyers once certification completes.

Portuguese is Angola's official language, so permits, manuals and safety notices for local crews are normally expected in Portuguese.
The Instituto Angolano das Comunicações, INACOM, is the telecom regulator whose homologation is needed for wireless and telecom equipment sold in Angola.
Angola LNG Limited is owned by Sonangol, Chevron, TotalEnergies and Azule Energy, so the Soyo site combines several shareholders' operating practices.
“Industrial” describes a phone built for plant conditions: sealed, drop-resistant and manageable at fleet scale through Android Enterprise. It does not by itself mean the phone may enter a classified area. Only a device with a valid explosion-protection certificate and marking may do that.
The IS-04Z1 is designed to be both an industrial Android phone (IP68, 4,000 mAh battery, 50 MP camera, Android 16 with EMM and MDM support) and an intrinsically safe one. Its explosion-protection certificates are in progress and have not been issued.
In Angola. Crews rotate through Luanda and Soyo and handsets pass between operators, contractors and vessels. Android 16 with EMM and MDM support allows enrolment, remote lock and remote wipe at each rotation change, with Portuguese language profiles. Offshore, vessel networks and installation Wi-Fi carry the traffic, and charging happens only in a safe area.
A distributor for Angola would carry the IS-04Z1 after certification completes; the Q4 2026 launch is the planning date and no appointment has been made. SAMS reviews applicants one by one and prefers companies with their own Ex-competent technical and service staff, since certified devices must not be repaired outside approved channels.
No. Nothing can be bought or taken into a classified area today: certification is in progress and launch is planned for Q4 2026. What is available now is the datasheet, the written certification schedule and evaluation units for safe-area use.
There is no list price yet. SAMS gives indicative pre-launch pricing in writing, against a stated quantity and site, and does not commit to a lead time before certification completes.
Yes by design: IP68 sealing, a 4,000 mAh battery, a 50 MP camera and Android 16 with EMM and MDM support. The explosion-protection certificates are separate and still in progress.

INACOM, the Instituto Angolano das Comunicações, is the telecom regulator whose homologation applies to wireless and telecom equipment. Local agents often handle the filing and fees. Check with INACOM or an agent which documents and test reports are currently required for your product.
Portuguese is the official language, so local authorities and crews will normally expect manuals, permits and safety notices in Portuguese. International operators often work in English as well, so ask the operator or contractor which languages are required for induction and equipment documentation.
Radio equipment needs type approval from INACOM before it is used on local networks, and documentation in Portuguese is expected. The handset supports Portuguese language profiles. Local content rules also favour supply through an Angolan company. Check the current position with your operator's procurement team and with the partner who would handle importing.
